<h4>RCCG Banishes Illiteracy Through Spiritual&comma; Financial&comma; Physical And Intellectual Leanings<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that the Redeemed Christian Church of God&comma; RCCG&comma; has initiated a &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Kick Illiteracy Out of Lagos State Campaign&comma;” aimed at banishing spiritual&comma; financial&comma; physical and intellectual illiteracy from the Nigerian system&comma; beginning with Lagos State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Briefing the press in Lagos on Monday&comma; May 16&comma; as prelude to the commemoration of the programme 2nd anniversary coming up in June 2022&comma; at the Lekki Adult Literacy and Vocational Centre&comma; with the theme&colon; Kick Illiteracy Out Of Lagos State Campaign&comma;&&num;8221&semi; Mrs Chika Idallison who is the administrator and lead facilitator&comma; noted that the reason for the establishment of the Lekki advocacy centre was borne out of the desire to promote the well being of the people physically&comma; spiritually and other ramifications especially in the area of education&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Joe Mbulu&comma; Coordinator and Trustee&comma; Lekki Adult Literacy and Vocational Centre&comma; took the audience down memory lane and explained the need for Adult Literacy Centre in <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">Lekki<&sol;a> which&comma; according to him&comma; was borne out of share passion to minimise the level of illiteracy within their catchment area&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He stated that the centre started with two facilitators but has grown over the years to around 70 facilitators&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Further&comma; Mbulu stated categorically that the centre is not for profit making but rather impacting life&comma; giving life a meaning and value by nurturing learners who will grow spiritually&comma; financially&comma; physically and intellectually&period; He stated that positive reinforcements have been put in place to encourage learning&comma; with incentives like birthday celebrations&comma; empowerment programs for the needy among them when the need arises and award presentations for best performing students&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He told the audience that they are free to visit the centre every Saturday to experience what they do and also support the program in their own way&comma; adding that there is room for partnership with NGOs who share similar vision&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Learners who are mature in age and do not want to further their education have vocational programmess lined up for them&period; Those who are interested in furthering their education also have scholarship programmes lined up but there is room for support&comma;” he said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;On his part&comma; the Provincial Pastor of RCCG&comma; Christ The Lord Centre Parish&comma; LP 20&comma; Pastor Tunde Netufo&comma; narrated the birth of Adult Literacy Centre &lpar;LACL&rpar; which he said is a practical demonstration of a component of the RCCG CTL&comma; which seeks to bring the gospel to life through works of righteousness&comma; such as developing them physically&comma; spiritually&comma; financial and intellectually and also to bridge the gap between the literate and illiterate within the Lekki Phase 1 community&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He however stressed part of the challenges they encountered when they were about setting up the centre&comma; one of which was getting an approval from the state government&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;But when they made the state agency understand that this is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility&comma; CSR which is in line with the mandate of our General Overseer&comma; they gave us all the support needed&comma; also in terms of finance&comma; it has been sheer will&comma; from the trustees to well meaning individuals&comma;” he divulged&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Responding to questions&comma; Mrs Idallison explained that the Centre has prospects for expansion and extending it beyond Lekki&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;She stressed that the Centre presently has 125 learners&comma; saying that in terms of financial challenge&comma; God and well meaning individuals within the church have been the source of supports&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;She noted that learners are not limited to RCCG alone&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We have Muslims in our midst&period; You can see some of the women with hijab in the photo&comma;” she clarified&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>Location&colon; RCCG CHRIST the LORD CENTRAL PARISH&period; CTL&period; LAGOS Province 20&period; 1- 5 Admiralty Road&comma; Opposite UBA&comma; Beside Forte Oil Filling station&sol; Tantalizers&comma; Lekki Phase 1<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;
