My Experience With kumuyi 46 Years Ago

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has revealed an intimate secret of what happened between him and Pastor Williams Kumuyi, the founder of Deeper Life Bible Church,in Kenya, the capital of Nairobi in 1976.
Adeboye, while delivering sermon, narrated that there was a global pentecostal conference in Kenya that drew participants across the globe.
He stated that he was one of the young pastors that attended the conference from Nigeria including Kumuyi.
Said Adeboye:
“In the morning after we had arrived the previous day, I intended to study the Bible and I had my pocket Bible with me.
” But there was noise everywhere. Other participants engaged in conversations that it was difficult for me to concentrate on my study in the noisy environment.
“I therefore, hatched an option to move to an excluded area for my Bible study and I searched and found a toilet very convenient.
“I began my study until a time I decided to move out. But unknown to me, another person was in the other toilet.
“I flushed the toilet and was ready to move out. The person in the other toilet flushed about same time with me.
“Co incidentally, we both stepped out and behold, the person I saw was brother Kumuyi,” Adeboye narrated.
RCCG is one church which is prodigious in nature.
Arguably Nigeria’s biggest church, it was founded in 1952, by Pa Josiah Akindayomi.
The founder, before his death in 1980, ordained Bro Enoch Adeboye, as a pastor in 1975 and would later transfer the mantle of leadership to Pastor Adeboye.
At the moment, the church is on literally every street that has live in Nigeria.
Unconfirmed information has it that the aim of the church is to have a branch in every family in Nigeria and to ensure that in every family in the world there will be at least one redeem member.
The RCCG as of 2017 has its branches in over 196 nations in the world and the number here in Nigeria is presumably at infinity.
The RCCG has over 5 million members globally and its headquarters is in Lagos Nigeria, with a camp in Ogun State that could accommodate a million worshipers in a single service.
On the other hand, Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) was
founded by Pastor Williams Kumuyi, a lecturer of mathematics at the University of Lagos in 1973, hence, that title of a lecturer was stripped off him when he answered the call of God.
From a gathering of 15 students who came to learn the scriptures from him to over 65,000 congregants recorded in a single service in 2016, Deeper Life, is no doubt, one of the biggest in Nigeria even though its doctrine is quite conservative and seem less contemporary.
