OpenLife Nigeria reports that the President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, has announced an indefinite suspension of any Ndigbo coronation ceremony in Lagos.
The Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo President made the announcement in a statement he personally signed on Saturday and made available to journalists.
According to Chief Aguene, “The issue of Nna Ndigbo Lagos State { Father of Igbos in Lagos or Diaspora } has been cancelled by the directive of Chief Solomon Aguene.
This decision has been taken in line with the submission of our host community who are kicking against so many coronations in Lagos state.
Therefore, anybody coming for a meeting in Lagos can attend but anything coronation is completely cancelled.
Till we hold a meeting with our host community, any coronation will not be entertained in Lagos including display of flags or coronation paraphernalia.
Whatever the outcome of our meeting with our host community on the basis of either organizing coronation in Lagos or elsewhere in Igbo land will be officially communicated.
Anyone who flouts this order does so in his or her own risk,” Chief Aguene warned.
