Hearty felicitations have greeted renowned Nigerian professor of Safety and Environment, Professor Okeke Gerald Ndubuisi after he bagged double awards.
The foremost environmentalist won the Nelson Mandela award and Nigerian grassroots Development award for 2022.
The award ceremony which was organized by the African Update International Magazine held on September 9, 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Professor Okeke Gerald Ndubuisi was awarded based on his impeccable contribution to dogged transparent stewardship in his chosen profession.
He was accompanied by his wife to receive the two awards.
The award which has been going on for the past fifteen years has grown to become one of the best platforms for recognizing and rewarding excellence, true leadership and selfless services in Africa.

It is aimed at rewarding a few Africans whose legacies and life achievements are true manifestations of the leadership qualities of Julius Nyelele of Tanzania, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Nelson Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, Late Prof. Chinua Achebe of Nigeria, Wangari Maathai of Kenya and Prof Wole Soyinka of Nigeria.
The objective of the award is to recognize those who through sincere and selfless service to humanity made positive impacts on the life of their people and through hard work promoted sustainable development in Africa.
Late Dr Kenneth Kaunda, a first-generation leader in Zambia was one of the first recipients of the Nelson Mandela award in Africa.
