Political Theatrics In Kaduna As Mahmud Sadis Buba’s Reps Ambition Generates Unanswered Questions (Video)

OpenLife Nigeria reports that in a political landscape often dominated by money, godfatherism, and conventional expectations, a story from Kaduna State is drawing attention for its symbolism of resilience and inclusion.

Thirty-year-old Mahmud (or Muhammad) Sadis Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau (sometimes rendered as Abun Al-Ajabin Zazzau or Abinalajabi), has successfully passed the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening to contest the House of Representatives seat for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

However and technically so, there is strong controversy over Mahmud Sadis Buba’s claim that he is 30 years old.
He is currently aspiring for the 2027 House of Representatives in Kaduna State.
A lot of people from his constituency dispute that.

Some clain that he is still in secondary school and have released a video of him riding to school in December 2025 on a scooter. One claimed that his mother married his father in 2007.

However, he presented SSCE as his academic qualification at the APC screening. Did he lie about his age?

Did he present forged SSCE record? Is APC in a position to clear the doubt? Should the Police get involved? How about deeper media inquiry in his constituency.

Who is Mahmud Sadis Buba?

Buba lives with dwarfism, a condition that affects growth and physical development. Far from letting this define or limit him, he has built a grassroots political profile in the Zaria/Sabon Gari axis of Kaduna State.

He previously worked as a driver before entering politics more fully, an experience he cites as reinforcing his belief in equal opportunity and hard work regardless of background.

He serves as Chairman of the ‘Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ‘27’ support group, aligning himself with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

His recent steps include obtaining the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, undergoing party screening, and even presenting his documents to high-profile figures like Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

His Declaration and Vision

In his announcement on social media, Buba framed his bid as a collective journey:

“Today, I humbly announce that I have obtained my nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives, Sabon Gari Federal Constituency.

From my beginnings as a driver to this moment, my journey has been built on hard work, resilience, and the belief that every individual, no matter their background, can rise to serve.”

He pledged people-oriented representation, transparency, and focus on development, stating: “This campaign is not just about me, it is about us, our future, and the progress of our constituency.”

His message emphasizes inclusion, equal opportunity for persons with disabilities (PWDs), and amplifying the voices of ordinary citizens.

Why This Matters

Buba’s emergence has gone viral on social media, sparking conversations about representation in Nigerian politics.

Many applaud his courage and see him as proof that physical appearance or disability should not bar political ambition.

Supporters hail him as potentially one of Nigeria’s most distinctive lawmakers if successful, while reactions range from admiration to the usual mix of skepticism and memes common in Nigerian online discourse.

In a country where persons with disabilities still face significant barriers to participation in public life, Buba’s screening success highlights growing (though still limited) space for diverse voices within major parties like the APC. Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, part of the culturally and economically vibrant Zaria area, includes a diverse population that could resonate with messages of inclusion and grassroots empathy.

Challenges Ahead

Passing screening is only the first hurdle. The full primary process, intra-party competition, general election dynamics in Kaduna, and resource demands of Nigerian politics will test his resolve.

Yet his early visibility suggests he has already succeeded in drawing national attention to issues of disability inclusion and youthful grassroots ambition.

Buba’s story resonates as a reminder that leadership is measured by vision, resilience, and service rather than physical stature. Whether or not he ultimately secures the ticket and wins the seat, his bold entry enriches the political conversation in Kaduna and beyond. Sabon Gari.
