Police Inspector General arrests 799 rape suspects as Adeboye declares spiritual war on rapists

&NewLine;<p>The Inspector General of Police&comma; Mohammed Adamu     has disclosed that about 799 rape suspects have been arrested in the last five months&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Adamu gave this update on cases of sexual violence reported in parts of the country on Monday while briefing State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The police boss revealed that between January and May&comma; about 717 rape incidents were reported across the country&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He added that during the period&comma; the police arrested about 799 suspects in connection with rape cases&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>According to the IGP&comma; 631 cases have been conclusively investigated and charged to court while 52 cases are still under investigation&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He briefed reporters in company with the Minister of Women Affairs&comma; Pauline Tallen&comma; and the Minister of Information and Culture&comma; Lai Mohammed&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Meanwhile&comma; the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God&comma; RCCG&comma; Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye&comma; has declared spiritual war on rapists worldwide&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Adeboye who stated this in a short video lamented the gruesome murder of Uwaila Vera Omozuwa who was found dead&comma; lying half-naked in a pool of blood at the church after being raped and killed&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;That girl was my daughter&period; I will cry to my God for justice&comma;” he said&period; Omozuwa&comma; 22&comma; &nbsp&semi;was studying Microbiology at the University of Benin City<&sol;p>&NewLine;
