Peter Obi and Dave Umahi are Assets to Nigeria

Sir, people are agitating for President of Igbo extraction. What do you think about it as an Igbo Man?
Yes, I know that in no distant time, God will do it above human politics.
But Nigerians will have themselves to blame especially if two great born leaders from Igbo extraction lose their interests in becoming the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria especially now that they are vibrant young men.
Who are those two Igbo people you have in mind that have the capacities to change Nigeria?
They are Peter Obi and Engineer Dave Umahi
Of all the many people from the east why did you chose these two?
These two have been tested and trusted. I don’t want to play the politics of African mentality but politics of truth.
I may not have access to these people on daily basis but I am following their track records day by day.
But if I want to meet any of them, it is not a problem but to meet these calibre of people, you must have a product to present and not to go and gossip or beg.
So, I can assure you that they are the only two people that have the capacities to lead and improve Nigeria to any level.
Can you explain further about Peter Obi and why you say he is among the best?
First of all, nobody is perfect before God. But I know that a lot of people will be angry about this statement because they believe that everything is politics.
It is difficult to describe Peter Obi’s humility and the interest he has towards his fellow human beings.
I thought that the character he was displaying was pretence for political strategy to woo people and that was why I distanced my self from him before.
The day I had the opportunity to have a discussion with him and few others, I realized that Peter Obi is a God sent to this generation of Nigerians.
I don’t have much to say because like I told you, it is difficult to describe PeterObi.
On that day I met him, I found out that the man is not even interested in accolade which is common among many African politicians especially Nigerians who will want the master of ceremonies to be singing their profile from the beginning of an event till the event will be postponed to another day.
They would say lots of good things which they would claim they have done even when they know that they didn’t do those things.
While the unmerited praise session is on, the politicians will be very happy that the master of ceremony knows his job.
But Peter is different. He will come to an event and seat at any place he finds a seat. It is only the master of ceremonies that will come and plead with him to come to the front seat.
In most cases, he will tell you that he is comfortable where he is.
I don’t know how to describe Peter Obi.
He is a descendant from God to come and rescue us but he cannot force himself because we know how Nigerian politics is being played.
Most time, if you are saying the truth, you may deny yourself stomach infrastructure and become an automatic enemy to the powers that be.
The statement Peter Obi made the day I had that political conversation with him was that he is not the only qualified for Nigerian presidency.
He said that what is important is for Ndigbo to be president because Ndigbo’s contributions to the Nigerian economy and development since the creation of Nigeria till date cannot be under estimated by any human being.
He also said that Ndigbo should be aware that if he becomes President, his work is for Nigeria to balance the equation of every tribe in the country.
From that day, everything about Obi became my second religion. Peter Obi’s words are his bond and his life system is inborn.
He is good.
Why do you also think that Umahi is qualified to lead Nigeria?
My brother, you are asking a question as if you are not living in Nigeria.
If at all you are living in Nigeria, you have to visit Ebonyi State because charity begins at home.
What you see in Ebonyi State will tell you who Umahi is as a governor of the State for eight years.
Dave Umahi transformed Ebonyi State. Under his leadership, Ebonyi State became the fastest developing state in Nigeria if not Africa.
He initiated the building of roads with iron rods.
Dave Umahi is not a man who claims to be what he is not unlike some lawyers who became Senior Advocates without winning a single case in court.
Dave Umahi is a qualified engineer both in academic and natural wisdom full of architectural ideas. He is a designer to the highest level.
Now, Umahi is the Minister of Works. I have a great respect for him as a brother and as my former deputy governor and governor respectively.
Dave Umahi as Minister of works has shown a capacity that we don’t know who can wear that shoes again when he leaves office.
With what he has done so far in a short period of time, it is obvious that he can control Atlantic Ocean.
I began to respect Umahi the more during the just commissioned 700-kilometre coastal highway by his boss, President Tinubu when he started reeling out projects across the country with financial figures attached to the projects without reading from a prepared speech.
Dave is a genius especially in the area of leadership and infrastructure.
In addition, I doff my cap for Umahi the day I saw him with Senator Ayim Pius Ayim walking hand in hand as brothers and Ebonyians. As leaders, they have buried their differences.
I am using this opportunity to urge him to extend such hand of fellowship to others with whom he has political differences irrespective of the political parties especially his early political allies like Honourable Linus Okorie and Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii.
Another area I respect Umahi so much is that since he became the state chairman of his former party, PDP about 17 years ago, he has never changed his mobile phone number till date.
Call him anytime. If he is busy, he will definitely call back whether the number is saved on his phone or not. He will discuss with the person irrespective of his or her level. That is leadership.
Now, my advice to the minister
As a leader, Dave Umahi should overlook gossip. There are people who are specialists in fabricating lies against anyone when seeking favour.
I recommend the Minister emulates the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who doesn’t believe in one sided story even from his biological children and blood brothers and sisters.
That was how he built a strong structure and he can handle Nigerians. Now, he is known as the most famous politician in Africa.
If you tell President Tinubu that someone is against him and that someone has been spoiling his name with blackmail, he will ask you what can we do to get that person close.
He would ask if it is by finance or by appointment or by personal discussion.
It is only God that can change his political strategies.
That is why his political strategies are still flying till date.
Tinubu has made people from a-no-body to somebody including those who have been disowned by their families. Some were touts.
Today, some are occupying big offices like senators, House of Reps, state and federal appointments etc.
He has also empowered many people in business who are billionaires in hard currencies across the nation and other parts of the world. That is Tinubu for you.
Why will God not bless him with presidency as his heart desire?
