Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria declares BLACK SUNDAY for Lekki EndSARS victims

Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Delta State, has declared Sunday, 25th October, 2020, as “Black Sunday.”

The declaration is in solidarity with the slain youths during the peaceful protest at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Many youths died in the struggle to liberate Nigeria from the shackles of oppression, police brutality and corruption.

The Pentecostal body stated this in a release signed by the State Chairman, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi of the Heroes of Faith Ministry, Ughelli, and the secretary Bishop Willie Abos.

“The State Chairman of PFN Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi has declared Sunday 25th October, 2020 to be Black Sunday. This is in solidarity and sympathy with the families of those that lost their lives during the ENDSARS Protest.”

The statement directed that, “All leaders and members of pentecostal churches in the state are to wear black to church. Sunday 25th, October, 2020 church services are to close by 10:30 am.”

It stated further that, members of each church should meet from 11-12 pm for prayers. Biblical reading should be  drawn from 1st Thessalonians 5:18 and Rom.8:28.

According to the statement, the churches are to pray, thanking God for the protest and all that happened. Thank God for the youths of this nation. Thank God for the families of those that lost their lives during the ENDSARS protest.

PFN also directed prayers for a new Nigeria free from social vices and oppression.

It equally called for prayers for the end and burial of nepotism, wickedness, bad leadership and killing by Boko Haram and usher in the celebration of a new Nigeria.
