OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nigerian streamer Habeeb Hamzat, famously known as Peller, has opened up about the unexpected support he received from Nollywood star Funke Akindele during one of his toughest moments.
Last year was rough for Peller. A car accident, emotional struggles with his partner Jarvis, and a dramatic arrest after a distressing incident he shared online had him on the edge. Through it all, Akindele showed up quietly but powerfully.
Peller says she stood by him while he was arrested, offering care, encouragement, and prayers when he needed it most. At a recent event, as he began sharing her support, Akindele jokingly tried to hush him but Peller laughed and continued, grateful for her unwavering presence.
This isn’t the first time Akindele has helped others behind the scenes.
She once surprised Iyabo Ojo with an iPhone she had jokingly promised, and skit maker Kamo has shared how she supported him and his wife through their wedding and early family life. For Peller, her act was a reminder of her genuine kindness and generosity.
This isn’t the first time Akindele has quietly supported others. She has a history of extending meaningful help behind the scenes, from fulfilling promises to colleagues to supporting friends during major life events.
For Peller, her gesture during his arrest highlighted her consistent generosity and genuine care for those around her.
