Okotie Unveils a breakdown of his interim government proposal to Nigerians

OpenLife Nigeria reports that music star turned man of God, Christopher Oghenebrorie Okotie, popularly called in the entertainment religion and political circles as Chris Okotie has unveiled fresh proposal to the federal government of Nigeria on how the country can move out of its political logjam. The 64 years old Nigerian televangelist and pastor of the Household of God Church International Ministries, has on June 16, on the occasion of his birthday celebrations, proposed interim national government to be headed by him to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Though the proposal was not well received, the celebrated music star used the occasion to send strongly worded message to presidential candidates like Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Labour Party, LP and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP respectively to step down for him and support his interim government proposal.
To demonstrate his seriousness, Okotie, who founded the deregistered Fresh Political Party, FPP, has unveiled a technical breakdown of his interim government proposal titled “Summary Proposition For Interim Government By Reverend Chris Okotie.” The itemized proposal is presented below unedited
1. Elimination of the Legislature in the tripartite concept of our presidential system of government.
2. Empowering the various voluntary associations.
3. Enabling professional associations constitutionally, to acquire legislative powers as a replacement for the removal of the legislature from our political system. Consequently, no political parties, ministers, commissioners or governors, as we presently know it.
4. Restructuring.
5. Redefining our federalism.
6. The creation of a new Constitution which shall be an authentic, democratic Constitution; the Peoples’ Constitution.
7. Embracing the concept of aboriginal democracy, that is, a government from the people, for the people and with the people. This is as distinct from the current experience of the political parties which is government of the party, by the party and for the party.
8. Establish a Government of National Reconciliation and Reconstruction. This interim government shall address aberrations and anomalies in the polity.
9. Young persons with inclination to technological advancement will ensure financial accountability of government.
10. Each state will be administered by volunteer tetrarchs.
11. Inviting all Nigerians to join the conversations that would enable a transition to an interim government at the end of President Buhari’s tenure.
12. Collating these conversations as a transcript to the President and National Assembly.
