Odumosu orders discreet investigations into multiple sexual assaults cases in Lagos

&NewLine;<p>The Commissioner of Police&comma; CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered discreet investigation and diligent prosecution into reported sexual assaults in Lagos State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>This is coming on the heels of increased cases of diverse sexual molestations against teenage girls&comma; a development the Commissioner has vowed to eradicate&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In a statement signed by Lagos Police Public Relations Officer DSP Bala Elkana&comma; officers at Ikorodu Police Station&comma; on June 12 at about 3&period;30pm&comma; received a complaint that a 61 years old &nbsp&semi;Eke Kanu &nbsp&semi;of Ebute Road&comma; Igbogbo&comma; Ikorodu was having unlawful sexual intercourse with his 19 years old daughter &lpar;name withheld&rpar; without her consent&period; The survivor stated that her father started having sexual intercourse with her when she was small and threatened to deal with her if she tells anybody&period; She further stated that when her father discovered that she was pregnant&comma; he took her to a chemist where she was administered some drugs and injection to abort the pregnancy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The statement further stated that the survivor has been &nbsp&semi;taken to Mirabel Center by the Police for medical attention and forensic examination&period; Kanu has been &nbsp&semi;arrested and taken to State Criminal Investigation Department&comma; Panti for discreet investigation and diligent&nbsp&semi; prosecution&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<figure class&equals;"wp-block-image size-large"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;06&sol;Rape&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" class&equals;"wp-image-4073"&sol;><figcaption><strong>Chinedu Obi&comma; a sales man who defiled his master&&num;8217&semi; twin daughters<&sol;strong><&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In a related development&comma; officers at Bariga Police Station received a report on June 26 at about 7&period;30 pm &nbsp&semi;that a 33 years old &nbsp&semi;Chibuike Kalu of Amodu Street Bariga has defiled his 14 years old daughter &lpar;name withheld&rpar;&period;&nbsp&semi; The survivor was taken to Mirabel Centre Ikeja for medical treatment and forensic&nbsp&semi; examination&period; He has however confessed to the commission of the crime and would be charged to Court&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Similar incident occurred in Aguda area of Surulere where a 26 years old salesman&comma; Chinedu Obi&comma; has reportedly defiled  his employer’s twin daughters&comma; a routine&comma; he confessed&comma; started since 2019&period; The victim’s mother&comma; in her mid 30s&comma; reported the case&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In a swift reaction&comma; the Commissioner of Police&comma; &nbsp&semi;Hakeem Odumosu has ordered the transferred of the case to Gender Unit&comma; State Headquarters&comma; Ikeja for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution&period; This directive includes all other sexual assault cases with a fresh commitment of the Command to continuously apprehend sexual offenders&comma; wherever they are in the State and make them face the full weight of the law&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He has however advised parents not to trust anyone with their kids&comma; especially female children&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
