Obi Of Onitsha, Adams Oshiomhole On Corruption In Nigeria

<h4>Obi Of Onitsha<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that like what seems an indirect reply to Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s outpour to the effect that it is better to have 774 thieves than having one big thief&comma; the Obi of Onitsha&comma; His Royal Majesty&comma; Nnaemeka Achebe&comma; has warned that with the increasing level of corruption in the country which is akin to milking a cow&comma; the cow would soon die if incorruptible milking was not stopped&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Senator Adams Oshiomhole&comma; representing the Edo North senatorial district&comma; while speaking at a forum on local government autonomy organized by the House of Representatives on Monday&comma; December 2&comma; 2024&comma; remarked that &comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;<em><strong>It’s better to have 774 local government chairmen who are thieves than one big thief&period;”<&sol;strong><&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;He added that every local government in Nigeria can produce one or two billionaires&comma; rather than having just one billionaire in the state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But the Obi of Onitsha sees it differently&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to him&comma; the political class and those in leadership positions must put public interest above personal and individualistic interest if Nigeria as a country must grow beyond its current position&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In his goodwill message on Monday in Abuja at the public presentation of a book&comma; <strong>&&num;8216&semi;Bold Leap’<&sol;strong> authored by Senator Chris Anyanwu&comma; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;vanguardngr&period;com&sol;">His Royal Majesty<&sol;a> lamented the insincerity the political class has exhibited towards accountability and good governance&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He likened it to the ignoble attitude to milking the cow continuously without replenishing and sustaining it&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In the views of most Nigerians&comma; Senator Oshiomhole has declared&comma; in unmistakable terms&comma; that corruption is a way to go in governance under the present All Progressives Congress&comma; APC government&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>His out pour only implies duplication of corruption across strata&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;24475" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-24475" style&equals;"width&colon; 300px" class&equals;"wp-caption alignnone"><img class&equals;"size-medium wp-image-24475" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2024&sol;04&sol;EFCC456-e1712334155575-300x142&period;webp" alt&equals;"Obi Of Onitsha&comma; Adams Oshiomhole On Corruption In Nigeria" width&equals;"300" height&equals;"142" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-24475" class&equals;"wp-caption-text"><em><strong>EFCC<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;
