Following the government’s decision to ease the lockdown nationwide orchestrated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nigerian Navy has begun screening candidates into its 2020 enlistment
OpenLife reports that the Nigerian Navy has announced that the commencement of its 2020 recruitment screening begins tomorrow, November 5.
The screening exercise would last for two weeks, beginning from November 5 to November 18.
In a statement, Commodore Suleiman Dahun who signed on behalf of the Chief of Navy Staff warned candidates not to offer a bribe to anyone.
“Applicants are further advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them on the recruitment exercise,” Dahun warns.
In addition, the Navy stated that the screening exercise is meant for those who had registered online in March 2020. They explained that the exercise was disrupted by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
The statement further emphasized that applying candidates must be Nigerians by birth with no record of criminal activities.
Candidates are also expected to have attained between ages 18 and 22 with five credits in relevant subjects but must include English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
Those to be trained as specialists are expected to have attained between ages 18 and 26 with National Diploma, ND or National Certificate in Education, NCE and indeed its equivalents in other fields.
The screening will however be followed with aptitude tests on a date to be announced later.
