NDC Health Care Programme: Professionals can pick early signals of pregnant women intending to abandon babies—NDC UK-Ireland

&NewLine;<p>NDC Health Care Programme is capable of detecting pregnant women’s obnoxious intentions&comma; says Alhaji Alhassan Mbalba&comma; a Social Protection Expert&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Alhassan Mbalba&comma; who doubles as Chairman&comma; National Democratic Congress&comma;NDC&comma; UK and &nbsp&semi;Ireland Chapter&comma; said the medical initiative is novel&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p> &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;First&comma; in <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;vanguardngr&period;com">Ghana’s history<&sol;a>&comma; a political party- NDC promises to establish a Centre of Excellence for social workers training&period; They would take care of the most vulnerable in Ghana&period; They would also offer employment opportunities for graduates from the School of Social Work&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I therefore&comma; appeal to all to vote massively for <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">President John Mahama<&sol;a> and NDC’s parliamentary candidates on 7th December 2020&period; All social workers&comma; child welfare professionals&comma; allied professionals and Ghanaians should heed this call&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;This is because President John Mahama’s next government will provide Free Primary Health Care&period; The government will train and equip social workers to lead the social protection efforts in Ghana&period; This initiative &nbsp&semi;will &nbsp&semi;minimise&comma; and in the long term&comma; eradicate these kinds of unfortunate incidents&comma; he appellaed&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<h2 class&equals;"wp-block-heading"><strong>GHANAWEB<&sol;strong><&sol;h2>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>It would be recalled that on Ghanaweb &lpar;5th October&rpar; an Assin Praso resident&comma; Gladys Ackom&comma; discovered an abandoned newborn baby&period; The baby was dumped in the walkway leading to her bathroom&period; The mother of the baby is yet to be identified&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;In developed countries such as the UK&comma; antenatal care is universally free&period; It is mandatory for all pregnant women to seek antenatal care through out their pregnancies&period; And failure to seek antennal or attend antenatal care appointments regularly without good reasons would raise alarm bells&period; The &nbsp&semi;midwifery department will notify the local Child Protection Department and Children’s Services will undertake a risk assessment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;A Pre- Birth Child Protection Conference holds with a view to devise a <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">Child Protection<&sol;a> Plan to protect and safeguard the unborn baby&period; Social workers&comma; Midwives&comma; Doctors&comma; mental health nurses&comma; police&comma; the family and other relevant professionals will be in attendance&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The NDC People’s Manifesto is promising Ghanaians that John Mahatma’s government will provide Free Universal Primary Health Care&period;&nbsp&semi; It &nbsp&semi;will be accessible and free antenatal care to all pregnant women&comma;” he promised<&sol;p>&NewLine;
