<div><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">Openlife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that Nigerian singer and Naira Marley former protégé, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known musically as Mohbad, has passed away at the age of 27 years. The Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter hailed from Lagos.</div>

<div>Like Tupac Amaru Shakur { June 16, 1971-September13, 1996} an American rapper, widely considered one of the most influential and successful rappers of all time and known by his stage names 2Pac who died at the age of 25, the cause of death is unclear at press time but a source close to his management has confirmed his demise without divulging any other details.</div>

<div>Before his standoff with Naira Marley, he was signed to Marlian Records where his popularity soared.</div>

<div>The singer will be remembered for his hit singles like Fell Good, Ponmo and KPK (Ko Por Ke) with Rexxie.</div>

<div>Specifically, he was best known for his hit singles &#8220;Ponmo, Feel Good&#8221;, and &#8220;KPK (Ko Por Ke)&#8221; (you will always be remembered) with Rexxie which was nominated three times for The Headies awards 2022.</div>

<div><strong>Controversy and NDLEA arrest</strong></div>

<div>In February 2022, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Mohbad, Zinoleesky and four other people following their possession of illegal substances like MDMA and cannabis at their home in Lekki, Lagos.</div>

<div>Some viral videos on social media showed NDLEA operatives breaking into the musicians’ home in the Lekki district of Lagos State in the early hours of Thursday morning.</div>
<div></div>
<div> According to witnesses, the officials carried out the arrest without any search warrants and mistreated the Marlian singers. The NDLEA officers were seen hitting the musician with clubs and shooting into the air, forcing them into waiting trucks.</div>

<div>NDLEA confirmed the raid, &#8220;our men raided an area in Idado estate where Naira Marley’s boys stay.&#8221;[16] Quantities of cannabis and molly were recovered from their apartment and car,&#8221; he told TheCable Lifestyle.</div>

<div> Later, the NDLEA released Mohbad, Zinoleesky and 4 other and three others.</div>

<div><strong>Domestic violence allegation against Naira Marley</strong></div>

<div>After two years, he announced his departure from Marlian Records. On 5 October 2022, Mohbad accused singer Naira Marley of domestic violence and stated that his former boss ordered people to beat him up.[19] When he confronted Marley about his decision to employ a different manager to handle his music and business affairs.</div>
