Mai Mala Buni, executive governor of Yobe State is reinventing the State economy with a N2.8billion ultra-modern market.
When completed, the market is expected to shore in reasonable income and commercial activities in to the State.
During the foundation-stone laying ceremony, the governor said “The project would be completed within 12 months. It is being undertaken by Euro Afric Energy Ltd. The company was one among the 12 different firms that bided for the project, at the cost of N2.8bn.”
Mai Mala Buni assured that when completed, the state capital would be revived with high tech commercial activities. It would also usher in an appropriate business environment and a one-stop location for all kinds of items and products.”
He maintained that to fully achieve the objectives for which the market was being established, it would be run as a limited liability company.
The governor, had, in his inaugural speech, pledged to construct modern markets in seven towns. The towns include Damaturu, the state capital, Buni Yadi, Potiskum, Gashua, Geidam, Ngalda, and Nguru.
