Lagos House Wife Sentenced To 28 Months Imprisonment For Dealing In Illicit Drug</h4>
<p> ;</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife</a> </strong>reports that a federal high court sitting in Lagos today sentenced a Lagos house wife SIKIRU RUKAYAT to twenty eight months imprisonment for dealing in illicit drug.</p>
<p>In a six count charge filed before the court by the combined team of NDLEA Prosecuting counsels B.S. Abdullahi,M.I.Erondu and P.M.Ekuri, it was stated that SIKIRU RUKAYAT Female 33 years old, on or about the 12th day of March, 2026, at Black Gate Badore Area, Ajah, Lagos, within the jurisdiction of the <a href="https://www.vanguardngr.com/">Cour</a>t, without lawful authority dealt in 150 grams of Cannabis Sativa, 3 grams of Methamphetamine,150 grams of Molly,3 grams of cocaine,15 grams of Rophynol and ,15 grams of Tramadol thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 11(c) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.</p>
<p>When the six count charge was read to her,she pleaded guilty the prosecutor then reviewed the facts of the case and tendered six exhibits ,thereafter her lawyer in her plea for leniency,urged the court to tamper justice with mercy,saying that the convict is a single mother of four who leaves in uncompleted building,and she has shown signs of remorse.</p>
<p>In his ruling,the presiding judge,Justice Akintayo Aluko said,that he has put into consideration the plea of leniency by the counsel to the convict consequently,the convict was sentenced as follows:</p>
<p><strong>Count one,six month,count two two month,count three,two months count four,twelve months,count five three months,count six three months,or an option of fine of N800,000.</strong></p>
<p>All the sentences are to run concurrently while the drugs seized from the convict were ordered to be returned to the NDLEA for destruction</p>
