Lagos Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hazmat, Speaks On Igbo-Must-Go Threats

<h4>Lagos Deputy Governor<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<h4><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that the deputy governor of Lagos State&comma; Dr&period; Obafemi Hamzat&comma; has opened up on a Igbo must go threat which has generated reactions across divide in Nigeria&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The threat&comma; which appeared on the X handle LagosPedia&comma; had threatened a massive protest from August 20th to 30th&comma; 2024&comma; under the hashtag <strong>&num;IgboMustGo<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>However&comma; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity&comma; Gboyega Akosile&comma; has distanced himself and the Lagos State Government from the <em><strong>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;reckless&comma; divisive&comma; and dangerous rhetoric&comma;”<&sol;strong><&sol;em> emphasising that Lagos remains a home to all Nigerian citizens regardless of their ethnic nationality&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Speaking further on the issue&comma; Dr&period; Obafemi Hamzat also condmened the threat saying that it has no place in the administrative policy of Lagos State government under the leadership of governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Dr&period; Hamzat who spoke on Arise TV morning programme on Tuesday&comma; August 6&comma; explained that the Lagos State government team’s visit to condole with the family of late of Nigerian singer and songwriter&comma; Onyeka Onwenu&comma; is a demonstration of the value Lagos government places on the life of every Lagosian irrespective of tribe or language&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The deputy governor also stated that the government is pained by the sudden of death of Aribemchukwu&comma; daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia&comma; who was murdered in her apartment on Bembe Street&comma; Parkview Estate&comma; Ikoyi area of <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;vanguardngr&period;com&sol;">Lagos<&sol;a> last week&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He noted that no stone will be left unturned to ensure that justice is served in line with the commitment to the safety of life and property of every Lagosian&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
