<h4>Kwankwaso Speaks On Governor Abba<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that former Kano State governor and leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party &lpar;NNPP&rpar;&comma; Rabiu Kwankwaso&comma; has warned that no one who betrays the party has ever succeeded&comma; amid growing speculation that Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf may defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress &lpar;APC&rpar;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Kwankwaso made the remarks while addressing his loyalists as reports continue to circulate about the possible defection of his political ally and successor&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;What I am seeing is even beyond what I expected because I am aware that few&comma; very few of you have decided to cross to the other side&comma; don&&num;8217&semi;t worry&comma; whoever knows them&comma; advise them&comma;&&num;8221&semi; he said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the gathering despite the alleged moves by some party members to leave the NNPP&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;I&&num;8217&semi;m very glad with the turnout today because I didn&&num;8217&semi;t expect to see so many faces here&comma; because I thought they would follow the governor’s camp&period; But I want to remind the others who left us that nobody has betrayed us and succeeded&comma;&&num;8221&semi; he stated in the video&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The comments come amid reports that Governor Yusuf is preparing to leave the NNPP&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Earlier&comma; Daily Trust reported that&comma; barring any last-minute change&comma; the Kano State governor was set to dump the NNPP for the APC&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The report&comma; quoting multiple sources&comma; said the governor may defect with or without the blessing of his political mentor&comma; Senator Kwankwaso&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It was further reported that Yusuf insisted on leaving the NNPP after extensive consultations with stakeholders&comma; including members of the <strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">Kano State<&sol;a><&sol;strong> House of Assembly&comma; local government chairmen&comma; and some federal lawmakers from the state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Although&comma; as of the time of filing this report&comma; Governor Yusuf has not officially announced his defection to the APC&comma; a former presidential aide&comma; Bashir Ahmad&comma; has also said the governor is expected to defect to the ruling party&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
