Kwankwaso

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, 68, and the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has given insights into what his party will do with coalescing political parties ahead 2027 general election.
The former governor of Kano state from 1999 to 2003 and from 2011 to 2015 said “We {NNPP} are ready to talk to anybody, but any negotiation will be collective.”

In a piece he wrote on his Facebook wall, Kwankwaso said:

Thursday, I was pleased to attend our party, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, in Abuja.

Using the occasion, I expressed appreciation for our party members’ efforts to propel the party forward, and I congratulated our faithful for the success we recorded in the recent elections.

In the same vein, I expressed confidence that the people in this country have made a decision on what to do in 2027. And that is why we are so happy with ourselves, because we are with the people, and the people actually know we are with them.

However, one thing is ultimately clear, we are not satisfied with many aspects of life across the country, particularly the issue of poverty. Poverty is everywhere in this country. Many communities are unable to visit the farm now. Some cannot go to the market, while some cannot even return home.

Also against the backdrop of speculations about political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections season, I cautioned our members not to be distracted by the defections and sundry talks among other politicians.

We are comfortable in the NNPP, and believe that we have something to offer at the highest leadership level of this country. We are ready to talk to anybody, but any negotiation will be collective. – RMK
