OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Kebbi State Police Command, in furtherance of its commitment to combating violent crimes across the State, has recorded an operational success.
On 4th February, 2026 at about 2100hrs, operatives of the Police Special Tactical Squad deployed in Bagudo Local Government Area intercepted an unregistered Boxer motorcycle conveying two suspected armed bandits during a routine patrol.
Upon interception and during a security check, the suspects opened fire on the operatives. The police team responded in self-defence, leading to the neutralization of one of the suspects, while the second suspect escaped the scene with gunshot injuries. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Items recovered from the operation include five hundred and eighty-six (586) rounds of AK-47 live ammunition, three AK-47 magazines, one camouflage uniform, one military-style bag, two mobile phones, a cash sum of Four Hundred and Four Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (₦404,500), and the unregistered motorcycle used by the suspects.
