Kaduna-Plateau Border Community Turns Bloody As Nine Killed, 11 Injured In Fresh Attacks

<p>Kaduna-Plateau Border Community<br &sol;>&NewLine;Turns Bloody As Nine Killed<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that the Kaduna-Plateau border community has turned bloody as no fewer than nine persons were reportedly killed&comma; while 11 others sustained injuries following an attack on Angwan Magaji community in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State&comma; a community bordering Plateau State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The incident&comma; which occurred at about 1 a&period;m on Wednesday&comma; has raised fresh concerns over insecurity affecting communities along the Kaduna–Plateau axis&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Youth Movement&comma; Joseph Chudu Yonkpa&comma; the attackers invaded the community and opened fire on residents&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Yonkpa stated that most residents of the affected community are members of the Irigwe ethnic group with roots in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Those reportedly killed in the attack were identified as Jerry Doctor&comma; 51&semi; Danlami Magani&comma; 49&semi; Sunday Chibi&comma; 53&semi; Rita Abdullahi&comma; 45&semi; Sunday Elkan&comma; 5&semi; Esther Kefas&comma; 5&semi; Happy Friday&comma; 6&semi; Moses Daddy&comma; 4&semi; and Daddy Ibrahim&comma; 28&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Eleven other residents sustained varying degrees of injuries and were said to be receiving treatment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The National Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association&comma; Danjuma Dickson Auta&comma; confirmed the incident and condemned the attack&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Auta described the killing as unfortunate and called on security agencies to immediately investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He expressed concern over what he described as repeated attacks on communities in the area and urged authorities to strengthen security measures to protect lives and property&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He also appealed to government at all levels to take urgent steps to prevent further attacks and restore confidence among residents&comma; noting that the incident has left the community in mourning and renewed calls for swift intervention to halt recurring violence in the area&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
