OpenLife Nigeria reports that His Eminence, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Archbishop Emeritus of the Latin Church Archdiocese of Abuja from 1994 to 2019 has visited Zenith Bank Plc to drive conversations on values, leadership, service and societal progress.

With Cardinal Onaiyekan on the leadership building mission was Most Reverend Professor Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, the second Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Nsukka, Nigeria.
Onah, a respected Professor and renowned academic, philosopher and pastoral leader was ordained and installed by Pope Francis on July 4, 2013.

Speaking on the development, Dame Adaora Umeoji, Group CEO of Zenith Bank said “It was my honour to receive His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja and Most Reverend Professor Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Nsukka, during a courtesy visit to Zenith Heights in Lagos recently.

“Their visit was marked by warm fellowship and enriching conversations on values, leadership, service and societal progress,” says the  Group CEO.

Interestingly, with total assets hitting over ₦32.01 trillion, Zenith Bank’s unaudited Q1 2026 financial records report robust performance, with Gross Earnings surpassing ₦1 trillion and a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₦314.02 billion.

The core financial highlights for the quarter ending March 31, 2026, include Gross Earnings of ₦1.01 trillion, translating to 6.1% increase from ₦949.86 billion in Q1 2025).

The Profit Before Tax (PBT) hits ₦360.92 billion (up 2.87% year-on-year) and Profit After Tax (PAT) stands at ₦314.02 billion (up 0.69% year-on-year).

Earnings Per Share (EPS) is ₦7.64 compared to ₦7.59 in Q1 2025 even as Total Shareholders’ Equity stands at ₦5.17 trillion and Customer Deposits berths at ₦24.47 trillion.
