Joe Igbokwe Mocks Peter Obi

Joe Igbokwe Mocks Peter Obi

OpenLife Nigeria reports that following the successful one million match by the supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 general elections which held on Thursday in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Joe Igbokwe, special adviser to Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu, has mocked the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, saying he lacks the required ladder to climb to Nigeria s seat of power.
Igbokwe who was Lagos State APC spokesman for several years actually hails from same Anambra State with Peter Obi but he is a known supporter of Bola Tinubu.
Writing on his Facebook wall, Igbokwe itemized the deficits in Peter Obi’s structure, maintaining that the former Anambra State governor should not expect any magic in 2023 because Obi “Cannot climb the tallest iroko tree with bare hands,” Igbokwe emphasized.
He reminded Obi that he does not have
a member of his party as Governor in any of the 36 States in Nigeria and Abuja as well as Commissioners and other administrative aides including any elected chairman in the 774 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas, LCDA.
At the federal parliament, Igbokwe pointed out that Obi does not have any elected member in the Senate and House Of Reps.
He added that Obi’s party does not have appointed Ministers or head of Agencies, parastatal, etc including appointees on foreign mission like
Ambassadors and envoys.
He therefore asked:
Are you going to climb the tallest Iroko tree with bare hands?
Reacting, Don Excalibur, a public affairs analyst sees Igbokwe’s submission as infantile stressing that “All these offices you mentioned…..are they the ones that vote or install the president????…….or are you naming them as the offices that will manipulate elections with public resources to rig elections????……..in an ideal society, you will not mention these offices because power belongs to the people and it’s the people (Nigerians ) who vote not just the governors, local government chairmen of senators/Reps members.
“What you have just posted inextricably depicts that it’s these offices that rig elections to suit their candidate.
Your preferred candidate and other candidates are busy engaging the people , not the public office holders you just mentioned. …….Chief , power belongs to the people…..stop insinuating that elections will be rigged,” he cautioned Igbokwe.
Another analyst identified as Ohaka nkenka responded saying “Uncle Joe Igbokwe you have forgotten that Buhari scored over 12M votes in 2011 with unknown CPC without a single LGA chairman, Reps or governor. Check your history. Human beings make structure not the other way round,” he lectured.
