“Igbo Are Too Cheap To Buy”—Fayose Blasts Igbo Elites Taking APC Appointments, Left Kanu In Prison

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Isaac Fayose, a Yoruba activist, did not hold back. According to him, some politicians and elites “can easily buy Igbo leaders” with money and power, claiming they are “too cheap to resist.”

He drew a sharp comparison between the treatment of Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“can easily buy Igbo leaders with money and power, they are too cheap to resist. Look at this! Our own Igboho returned from prison, all forgiven, and now he’s even set to take a royal title in Ile Ife. But Nnamdi? He’s still chilling in Sokoto prison while people continue to wear the mandate cap as if everything is okay! Once you hold money and power, you can buy them at a cheaper rate. They will follow you like public dogs!”

Fayose’s words have ignited a firestorm online, stirring debates about tribal favoritism, political influence, and the unequal treatment of activists in Nigeria.

The statement has already drawn mixed reactions, with some praising Fayose for his boldness and others condemning it as incendiary.
