I never thought I will be alive to mark this birthday today.
These were the exact words of Delta State Information Commissioner, Mr Charles Aniagu on the occasion of his birthday celebration in Asaba on Monday.
Aniagu had tested positive to COVID-19 some months back. But he recovered speedily and resumed back at work.
At the ceremony, the Commissioner noted that he never thought he would be alive to celebrate his birthday. “I give glory to God. I thank you for all the prayers and supports,” Aniagu however, recognized representatives of SMART Delta. He appreciated the management of the Ministry of Information, DBS Asaba for the initiative,
Present at the event were the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Paul Osahor; governor’s Chief Press Secretary. Others were Mr Olisa Ifeajika and the Board Chairman DBS Asaba, Comrade Felix Ofou. The list included Mr. Nduka Omodon, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Communication,
Other were the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Media, Mr Nelson Egware; the Director of Information, Mr Dona Obuseh and other directors in the ministry, as well as management staff of DBS Asaba.
Speaking further, Aniagu tasked the new General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service, Asaba Mr Francis Osabohien on teamwork. He emphasized the importance of team spirit as a tool for enviable heights.
The commissioner emphasized the need for females to be included in the management team. He stated that women have important roles to play in the affairs of any organization.
The highpoints of the event were the presentation of a portrait to the commissioner by the DBS Asaba Management and the cutting of the birthday cake.
