How Nigeria Can Overcome Problem Of Hunger, Insecurity, Poor Governance—Primate Olakunle Babalola, GO, Calvary Crusaders Interdenominational Mission

How Nigeria Can Overcome Problem Of Hunger

OpenLife News reports that Primate Olakunle Michael Babalola, the General Overseer and Primate of Calvary Crusaders Interdenominational Mission [CCIM], in this exclusive interview with OpenLife’s Senior Staff Writer, Isaac Ngumah, speaks on his 23 years in ministry, the state of the Nigerian church, and why hunger, insecurity and poor governance have persisted in Nigeria.

He also bares his mind on restructuring, 2027 elections, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms.

Introduction and Call Into Ministry

My name is Primate Olakunle Michael Babalola, the General Overseer of Calvary Crusaders Interdenominational Mission.

The ministry is 23 years old. We started in 2003 on Crucifixion Day in March. I started the ministry at the age of 43.Going into the ministry was not my wish. It was by the enforcement of God. I was called, just like Moses was called.

It was not by his own wish, it was because God wanted to use him. Many true men of God are called not by their own wish. The purpose of my call is to save the world from the pit of Satan and bring them to Christ.

Our main aim is to proclaim Christ himself, his crucifixion, death and resurrection. We still much believe in the blood of Jesus. The blood can cleanse, deliver and heal.

Grassroots Evangelism and Community Impact

God has used me to win so many souls for Christ through the help of the Holy Spirit. Many people have been reformed and transformed from their old ways to become a new creature.

Twice in a year, we set out evangelical groups to preach and proclaim the name of Christ to the communities around us.

Beyond that, through Facebook we preach the gospel not only to my immediate community but to people in other countries, and it has been very effective.

How People Can Meet Jesus in a Radical Way

Meeting Jesus in a radical way is using that way to find radical solutions. Sometimes the Holy Spirit lays hands on people to transform their lives, to change their lives through deliverance. When the Spirit of God enters into them, they become a new creature.

Countless Miracles Since Inception

The miracles are countless. We have seen many people that doctors had declared would not live anymore, that there was no life in them, but God revived them.

People looking for the fruit of the womb for a long time, God touched their lives. People that are sick, God healed them. Miracles always take place here in this ministry through the power of Christ.

Programs For Youths, Widows, Orphans and Less Privileged

We have a program for the youths. Their group always meets to discuss the Word of God. Not only the Word of God, we also encourage them on how they will prosper and do well in society.

Experienced people and elders of the church from time to time have meetings and fellowship with them and encourage them not to go astray.

For the widows, we always have a program to help them, to support them in every needed area. During our anniversary, we have special grace for them.

We just celebrated our 23rd anniversary in July. It was awesome. The theme was MERCIFUL GOD. We fed the poor, gave gifts to poor orphanages. More than 400 guests came and received the divine touch of God.

There was a lot of eating and drinking, but spiritually, God touched many people.

Men of God With Private Jets and Security Agents

When God calls one, the glory of God must be emphasized. Going out with security agents is part of the glory of God. To save your life is important, provided that the ministry provided them.

In the time of our Lord Jesus Christ, he rode on a new colt that had not been ridden by anybody. At that time you can relate it to a private jet or car.

According to Christ, he gave us authority to ask whatever we want and it will be given to us. So I don’t have any negative expression about them so far as the ministry provided them.

Men of God Who Own Schools and Hospitals Their Members Cannot Afford

I don’t really support them on that. The purpose of establishing all these things should be to raise followers. The people that followed Christ, he fed them from what he attained from the ministry.

Establishing schools and hospitals that members cannot afford is not of God. I will never support that. If God gives me the grace today, the first priority will be the church members. When opportunities come, I will look inward first.

Flamboyant Lifestyle of Pastors

By right, a man of God should dress well. He should be on his feet if God provides, so that the ministry will be easier for him to run for the gospel.

Fake Pastors and Fake Miracles

These kinds of people are not called by God. They set up ministry purposely for business. It has been prophesied that at the last days all these things will take place. That is a sign of the end-time. I pray that people will not come across them.

How The Church Can Establish Oneness in Nigeria

Calvary Crusaders Interdenominational Mission was established to promote oneness among Christian bodies. Some will put on mufti and some will come in white, we don’t separate each other. We don’t discriminate. We are inter-denominational. This is what we have been preaching.

Proposed Bill to Ban Bus Evangelism

When evangelism started, there was no radio or television and internet. That is why everyone went out anywhere they felt they could reach people.

But now civilization has taken over. I encourage Christian bodies to make use of media rather than bus evangelism to reach out to people.

Why The Church Appears Silent Amid National Challenges

They are not the type of early churches. In the time of John the Baptist, Elisha, Elijah, they preached the truth with boldness. Samuel in his days confronted Eli and his household on the evil they had done.

Many pastors these days have deviated from speaking the truth to leaders because they have been bought. So many don’t want to say the truth about what is happening in the country today, but at the end we will all face God.

Consultation and Counselling Ministry

It has renewed the lives of people. Some people may come here heavily burdened inside. They come for counselling and they become free.

Nigeria at 66: A Nation Counting Numbers Without Growth

We are aged but we are still youthful in our way. In terms of economy and growth of the nation, we are not growing at all, we are just counting numbers.

We pray that God will minister into the hearts of all the leaders so that the age of the country will count in every characteristic of life.

When things are not going well, people will not be happy. That is why some are saying there is nothing to be proud of at 66.

Low Productivity, Failed Infrastructure and Failed Institutions

We pray that God should minister into the hearts of our leaders or bring up leaders that will be more focused on the development of Nigeria.

Our institutions are not working. If the institutions were working, we will not have all these failures. But I know that one day the redeemer will come.

The Real Solution to Hunger, Insecurity and Poor Governance

Despite the challenges, pastors and Christians should continue to pray that we have a leader who will bring solutions. If the economy is good, all these challenges of paying school fees, struggling to eat daily, paying medical bills and finding money to go to work will not happen.

On leadership failures, poverty, insecurity, bridled corruption and flawed elections, our institutions are not working. That is why we have all these.

Restructuring, Constitutional Reforms and Decentralized Security

We need to restructure Nigeria so that every section will have economic drive in its own place. By that, things will change. That is why we have colonial imbalance and faulty political structure.

That is why we need restructuring. All these, physical autonomy and constitutional reforms, are part of restructuring.I will support decentralized security because it will help people’s property and lives to be secured. It will be nearer to the people.

On 2027 General Elections, Stomach Politics and Muslim-Muslim Ticket

I have not been interested in human representation. We pray that God should choose. I don’t believe in human representation.

The reason why all this will continue to happen is because people are suffering and hungry. They cannot afford three square meals daily. So when they bribe them with stomach infrastructure, they immediately give in. Unless the country is reformed, all these will not stop.

On the Muslim-Muslim ticket, I don’t believe it will create religious fracture. I don’t believe in religious segregation. Anyone that God chooses is for the better of Nigeria.

Assessment of President Bola Tinubu’s Reforms

The reforms have been on paper. It has not reached the grassroots. The government should go into farming more so that there will be abundant food.

Focus and Challenges in Ministry

The focus has always been Christ, to do the will of God.Somebody that God has called should be ready to face challenges.

The challenges are human stability because some believe that everyday is Christmas. They don’t believe in salvation.

To them they prefer blessing and prosperity rather than salvation. That is the challenge. The world now really doesn’t want the Lord, they want magic.

That is why to really convince them to be stable and continue to work towards salvation is really a challenge.
