Honourable Tsekiri Matthew, Commissioner for Science and Technology in Delta State, has commended governor Okowa for science-base skill capacity development.
The commendation came on the heels of Okowa’s determined efforts in developing science based skills in Delta State.
Honourable Tsekiri made this known while speaking with news men in his office in Asaba on the activities in his ministry.
The commissioner said to increase science-based skill capacity development, there is need for ingenious inventions and innovations through technology incubations.
The Commissioner stressed that every sector of the society requires science in the pursuit of economic growth and sustainable development.
He pointed out that science and technology nurtures and accelerates growth in the industrial, medical technology, agriculture and other sectors.
“These are the new employment avenues for youths through scientific innovations, wealth creation, reduction of poverty,” he said.
He further recognised the role of scientific knowledge in sustainable developments. This, he said, drives innovation and science initiatives across economies.
Above all, the commissioner said science and technology will add immense value to education, health, agricultural and entertainment sectors.
