Odebunmi stated this in an interview with journalists at the Staff Development Centre, Abeokuta, while monitoring the Public Service Entrance Examination for candidates seeking employment into the post of State Counsel.
Odebunmi, who was quoted by his Press Officer, Mrs. Fatimah Alatishe, noted that the present government had been filling up the vacancies in the different cadres of the Civil Service through recruitments, inter-cadre and inter-service transfers, as well as upgrading of Civil Servants, adding such vacancies were created due to retirement and resignation of some officers.
The Chairman pointed out that the recruitment of the State Counsel being the second to be conducted by the present administration, would be based on merit.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr. Adedayo Somoye said the examination was to absorb fresh Counsels into the Ministry of Justice.
In their separate remarks, Commissioners III and IV in CSC, Hon. Gabriel Falola and Alhaji Yusuf Adegbenro respectively assured that the government would provide more jobs for the people.
Speaking on behalf of the candidates, Mr. Olayinka Komolafe, who is visually impaired said he was optimistic that the examination would pave the way for them to work in the State Civil Service.
