Governor Abiodun Conquers Potable Water Scarcity in Ogun State

<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Governor Abiodun Conquers<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a> <&sol;strong>reports that governor Abiodun Dapo of Ogun State has conquered portable water scarcity in State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;This is conveyed to OpenLife through a statement by the state government&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;According to the statement&comma; the rehabilitation of a dam project in the Arakanga water works in Abeokuta embarked upon by the Ogun State Government is now completed&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;With this development&comma; distribution of potable water to residents of the State capital and its environs will soon commence&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Special Adviser to the Governor on Water Resources and Special Duties&comma; Engr&period; Adekunle Otun stated this in his Office&comma; at Oke-Mosan&comma; Abeokuta&comma; noting that the distribution would be done gradually until the three Senatorial Districts had been covered&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Otun&comma; in a statement signed by his Media Aide&comma; Mr&period; Femi Abati&comma; said the rehabilitation of the Arakanga dam which commenced in 2020 was to enable it to abstract enough water for treatment and replacement of pipes&comma; adding that rehabilitation of the dam also necessitated the deliberate shutdown of other sub-stations&comma; which would soon be restored as the dam gates had been successfully installed&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&&num;8220&semi;We are confident that the completion of Arakanga Water Works will make every home enjoy water supply&comma; and this will be done bit by bit&comma; until we ensure that all parts of the State have access to potable water supply&&num;8221&semi;&comma; he said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;While mentioning the State government&&num;8217&semi;s effort to improve water supply&comma; the Special Adviser said a Memorandum of Understanding &lpar;MoU&rpar; was recently signed with the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;premiumtimesng&period;com&sol;">Federal Ministry of Water<&sol;a> Resources&comma; towards rehabilitating Ota Water Scheme in Ado-Odo Local Government Area&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Otun added that the Ogun State Water Corporation had also fixed some boreholes and rehabilitated the Yemoji Water Scheme at Ijebu-Ode&comma; saying power support was being done at Papalanto&comma; while laying of pipes is on-going in Ilaro to ensure that no area was left out in the distribution of potable water supply&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
