Government declares 2-day public holiday
The Yobe State Government has declared Monday and Tuesday, January 9 and 10, 2023, as public holidays because of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the state.
The holidays were declared to enable all civil servants and the general public to receive the President, who is expected to be in the state on a one-day state visit to inaugurate some projects.
This is contained in a circular dated January 8, 2023, signed by the state’s Head of Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal. According to the letter, all civil servants are to resume work on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
He said, “This is to enable all civil servants and the general public to receive the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, who will be in the State on a one-day State visit as he commissions developmental projects in the State.”
President Buhari is expected to inaugurate the newly completed Yobe International Cargo Airport, among other projects.
