FIFA unveils final list
OpenLife Nigeria has gathered that the final nominees in the coaching categories have been revealed. Tomorrow, Friday, 7 January, FIFA will announce who is still in the running to be crowned the best female player and best male player respectively. These two awards are given to the outstanding coach in women’s and men’s football as voted for by an international jury.
All the winners of The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021, including the recipients of the FIFA Fan Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award will be crowned on 17 January during a TV show broadcast live from the Home of FIFA in Zurich.
The final three nominees for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach are (in alphabetical order):
Lluís Cortés (Spain / FC Barcelona)
Emma Hayes (England / Chelsea FC Women)
Sarina Wiegman (Netherlands / Dutch national team / English national team)
The final three nominees for The Best FIFA Men’s Coach are (in alphabetical order):
Pep Guardiola (Spain / Manchester City FC)
Roberto Mancini (Italy / Italian national team)
Thomas Tuchel (Germany / Chelsea FC)
These two awards are given to the outstanding coach in women’s and men’s football as voted for by an international jury respectively comprising the current coaches of all women’s/men’s national teams (one per team), the current captains of all women’s/men’s national teams (one per team), one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team and fans registered on FIFA.com.
