<p>In a statement issued by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the Nigerian Government dismissed any notion of cancellation or postponement due to insecurity.</p>
<p>Mr. Mohammed condemned recent statements made by an INEC official raising concerns about the security of the electoral process and emphasized that security agencies are working to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for the polls.</p>
