#ENDSARS# PROTESTS: Lagos Police maintain calmness, provide adequate security

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&num;ENDSARS&num; PROTESTS&comma; a protest aimed at abolishing Police Special Anti Robbery Squad has elements of provocations&period; But  Lagos  Police Command has evolved  professional mechanisms to maintain calmness&comma; orderliness and ensure peaceful protests across the state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">This was disclosed through a statement made avaible by the Lagos Police Command spokesman&comma; Superintendent Olumuyiwa Adejobi&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">According to Adejobi&comma; the Commissioner of Police&comma; Lagos State&comma; Hakeem Odumosu&comma; has ordered Area Commanders&comma; Divisional <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">Police Officers<&sol;a> and Heads of Department in the command&comma; to be on their toes&period; They have been instructed  to ensure peaceful protests and provide adequate security for every peaceful protester in Lagos State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">The Command is mindful of the fact that every Nigerian is entitled to his fundamental human rights&period; Such rights will not be violated or trampled upon by a responsible institution like the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wsj&period;com">Nigeria<&sol;a> Police Force&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Odumosu however appeals to protesters to continue to be peaceful&comma; and avoid actions that can trigger crises within the state&period; He emphasizes that such protests must not be hijacked by unscrupulous elements to harass&comma; steal or rob innocent Lagosians&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Similarly&comma; the Police Chief admonished &num;ENDSARS&num; PROTESTERS to have trust in the leadership of the police&period; He assured Police readiness to reform and overhaul the Special Anti <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;nytimes&period;com">Robbery<&sol;a> Squad&period; The overhaul&comma; he stressed includes other tactical units of the force to operate in conformity with the global policing standards&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
