Economic Hardship
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Pastor Senior Gabriel Okpako Uyeh, JP, National Vice-President and LAWNA Territorial Chairman of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, has announced an increase in the wages of Ministers.
He attributed the recent salary increment for ministers in the Territory to faith in God’s word and the voice of God.
Speaking at the monthly Lagos Metropolitan business meeting on April 30, 2025, at National Temple Olorunda-Ketu, Lagos, Pastor Uyeh explained that the increment was made in faith, believing that pastors would double their efforts in their duties.
He urged pastors not to think that there is surplus somewhere, stating, “We increased your salaries believing that you will increase in your duties, enabling us to continue paying and encouraging church leadership.
“If we face challenges later, it’s not my fault; it’s yours.”
Pastor Uyeh also charged Pastors to be faithful in their duties, ensuring spiritual, physical, and economic growth in their Assemblies, Districts, and Areas.
The move comes amid growing demands for improved welfare packages for ministers across denominations, amid economic hardships in the country.
