Uphold The Highest Standards Of Conduct
OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit Ikoyi-Lagos, CP Okunade Ronke Nurat, has emphasized the need for professionalism, civility, and accountability among Team Managers of the unit during a strategic meeting held on 30th April, 2025.
This admonition is contained in a statement signed by DSP Ovie Kenneth Ewhubare,
Police Public Relations Officer in charge of
Police Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi-Lagos.
According to the statement, CP Nurat,
in her address, charged all officers to uphold the highest standards of conduct in their interaction with members of the public.
She reiterated that civility and respect are non-negotiable traits for effective policing and public trust.
The Commissioner underscored the importance of respecting and protecting fundamental human rights as enshrined in Chapter IV of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).
She reminded officers on the need to ascertain the condition of suspects before and after detention in line with the provisions of section 8 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015; as safeguarding these rights is sacrosanct to building public trust.
Highlighting the importance of accountability, CP Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, urged officers to take full responsibility of their actions and ensure close supervision of men working under them.
In her remarks, she stated that effective supervision improves discipline and enhances operational efficiency.
She concluded by reaffirming the Unit’s commitment to promoting integrity, responsiveness and accountability.
