Dowen College reacts as Lagos government shuts down school

Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos State says they will now have their classes online.

This is coming after the Lagos State Government ordered the indefinite closure of the school following the investigation into the death of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni, a student of the school. (Read Here)

Oromoni Junior was allegedly beaten to death by his fellow students in the school for refusing to join a cult.

Perrie, an uncle to Oromoni in a post on his Twitter account disclosed that his cousin until his death was subjected to bullying, torture and harassment.

The Lagos State Government disclosed to reporters that the reopening of the school depends on the outcome of an investigation into the death of the 12-year-old student.

Dowen College has now sent a circular to all parents and guardians that they would be teaching students online.

Mails were sent to parents and guardians stating that the school will not be shutting it’s learning processes completely, maintaining that it would be moved online for safety and transparency.
