December 16 Still Great Day For Ndigbo And Will Not Change

December 16 Still Great Day For Ndigbo

OpenLife Nigeria reports that ahead the December 16 conferment of Mayor Ndigbo on Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, Chairman Chisco group of companies, Dr. Chinedu Ubah, an Ndigbo stakeholder, says preparations are in top gear and nothing will change it

December 16 is around the corner. Has information on the conferment of Mayor Ndigbo on Chisco reached all Igbo people across the world?

Yes, electronic information has made the world a small village.
Even the constitution of Nigeria, when it was drafted, the whole Nigerians were not there.

You cannot reach everybody at the same time, if not, you wait for the unborn before the constitution will be decided.

And with that, no country in the world will have a constitution.

For example, Ohanaeze Ndigbo was formed in the early 70s in the home of Dr. Akanu Ibiam in Afikpo, Ebonyi State with other few Ndigbo.

Today, every man or woman of Igbo extraction claims to be Ohanaeze Ndigbo by birth.
Certainly, not everyone will be involved during the formative stage of an association or town union or clubs.

But, what is important is the positive result of such association or union or club in affecting the lives of the people.

We have information that some people said they were not informed. Is that true?

Well, a lot of people have been called through telephone. Different channels have also been used to send messages to people. Maybe some have not gotten the message.

But because we feel it is an honour and respect, some names have been included on the list which is in the public space.

However, we have time that is marked out for those critical stakeholders to be visited before the event. It is part of the committee’s plan.

We must do that so that those who specialise in fault finding will not find any excuse to blame the committee.

We hear that some people have been trying to make some negative comments because they were not included in the committee. Are you aware of this?

Yes, we know some of our brothers who always see everything in life as business as usual.

So, there is no chance for them to be included because the person who will be conferred with the title of Mayor Ndigbo, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu {Chisco} is a highly respected name in Nigeria and overseas.

Chief Chidi Anyaegbu,{Chisco}

So, we are not worried about their comments because it has no effect on what we are doing.

But if we have any event that has to do with politicians where money will be shared and political statements which are lies that are sweeter than the truth will be told, then, such people will be called upon to lead committee.
