Daniel Regha Questions Bishop David Oyedepo Over Alleged “7-Day Divine Judgment” On Bandits

OpenLife reports that a  fresh wave of online discussion has emerged following comments made by social commentator Daniel Regha, who reacted to a widely circulated claim attributed to Bishop David Oyedepo regarding a supposed “divine judgment” on bandit groups within a seven-day timeframe.

Regha’s response came amid continued reports of violent incidents across different parts of Nigeria after the period referenced in the claim had elapsed.

His remarks focused on recent insecurity incidents that have kept public attention on the country’s security challenges.

In his post, he questioned the outcome of the alleged declaration and pointed to ongoing attacks reported in various regions.

He wrote:
Oyedepo declared divine judgment on bandits within seven days, 7 DAYS. This was reported on the 19th of April 2026.

Now 7 days has ended, but it’s been one news about bandits attacking after the other.

The comments have continued to generate reactions online, with users divided over interpretations of religious declarations in relation to real-world security issues.

While some defended the spiritual perspective behind such statements, others echoed Regha’s concerns, pointing to the persistence of violent attacks despite the claimed prophecy timeline.

As of now, there has been no formal response from Oyedepo or his representatives regarding the remarks or the alleged declaration referenced in the discussion.
