Following the unprecedented lock down of the entire world by ravaging coronavirus ;pandemic, an action taken by various government of different countries to curtail further spread of the disease, many have expected spiritual intervention by renowned men of God. But that has not been coming as church leaders of different denominations have cautioned their members to obey government’s directives and worship from homes on Sundays.

That has been the excruciating situation for months.

However, this curiosity was the kernel of discussion in an exclusive interview session OpenLife had with Pastor Femi Lanre Oke, a motivational speaker, destiny coach, author and consultant to governments and organizations.

In the interview, Oke who is based in Ibadan, Oyo State explained that “As far as I am concerned the global lockdown has nothing to do with science or technology. It is God who is revealing His supremacy. Several times, I have had people criticising Pastors that they ought to have prayed to stop the pandemic. ; I simply laugh. ;

“Pastors can only align with God’s will. They cannot oppose it. What’s happening in the world is the hand of God. One million Pastors won’t be able to stop it. It’s like saying what happened when Herod was killing all the children when he found out that Jesus was born. God did not stop Herod from the killing. He only advised Joseph and Mary to leave the country. As Christians, we must be sensitive to God’s move and be willing to submit to it. I believe the pandemic will soon be a thing of the past in a couple of weeks after it must have satisfied God’s purposes,” he said.
