BREAKING: Nollywood Actor Okemesi Dies

Nollywood actor and content creator Bamidele Tope Saint, popularly known as Okemesi, has passed away today after a serious health crisis.

The tragic development comes just days after reports that the actor had slipped into a coma due to complications from medications he received during a recent hospital treatment.

Okemesi had recently appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance after battling an illness that left him in a difficult condition and temporarily without accommodation. Public support had helped him secure a new apartment only two days before his death.

His colleague Jeff Owolewa (aka Tony Montana) revealed that Okemesi had been unusually weak over the weekend, “sleeping through Saturday and Sunday with little appetite for food”, and later slipped into a coma when complications arose from medication administered during his earlier treatment.

Attempts to secure urgent care were reportedly hampered by hospitals turning him away due to lack of bed space, forcing his team to return him to the private facility that had initially treated him.

Jeff Owolewa confirmed the death, stating: “With a heavy heart, I’m announcing to the world that Okemesi is dead. […] The doctor pronounced him dead at exactly 11:50 a.m. this morning.” His body has been taken to a morgue as arrangements are being finalized.

Fans, colleagues, and well‑wishers across the Nigerian entertainment industry have expressed shock and grief following the news of his passing.
