<p>The controversy erupted after Afolayan publicly expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, remarks that many Nigerians interpreted as insensitive to the nation’s economic and security challenges.</p>
<p>The backlash on social media was immediate, with many users accusing the actor of being out of touch with ordinary citizens’ struggles.</p>
<p>Responding to the criticism, Afolayan issued a public apology, clarifying that his comments were misunderstood and expressing regret for any offense caused.</p>

“Aremu Afolayan is no longer a member of EKO 57. Please stop bully!ng him. If you want to bul*y anybody, come and bully me or my members. Leave him alone.”</p>
<p>Lege Miami emphasized that Afolayan’s exit was meant to ease tensions, not to punish him, and urged followers to direct criticism at the group’s leadership if necessary.</p>
