Anambra Police Command arrests suspects who sold twins for N150,000

Anambra Police Command has burst a child-stealing syndicate that sold a set of twins for N150, 000.

This is the disclosure of Superintendent Haruna Mohammed, the Command’s spokesman.

In a statement, the PPRO  said  the Command has arrested two men suspected to have stolen twins. The twins, he stated have been rescued.

According to him “Following credible intelligence on September  21, at about 6pm, police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti-cult unit, SPACS, arrested a 31 years old Chijioke Chukwulota  from  Imo State but resides at Uruagu village, Nnewi, Anambra State.

“The Suspect lured his ex-girlfriend whom he allegedly impregnated. After given birth to the twins through a cesarean section, he stole the baby girls, aged about two months on August 40. He sold the same children to a 31 years old  Tina Ibeato in Imo State at the rate of N150,000.

Haruna further stated that  the two suspects have been arrested and the children recovered in good condition.

The suspects would be brought to book after the on going investigation is concluded. he said.
