Alhaji Sani Kabir Was One Of A Kind—Otitoju, TVC Director

Alhaji Sani Kabir, one of the founding members of The NEWS and PM NEWS, who died on Christmas eve, was a humble man

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Alhaji Sani Kabir, the Sarki Hausawa of Ebute Metta, Lagos, who died on December 24 has been described as a humble man.
This was the view of Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, a director in Television Continental, TVC.
Speaking with OpenLife on Tuesday morning, Kolade-Otitoju stated that he was still in shock over the death of Sani Kabir.
“I could not believe it when the news of the death of Alhaji Sani Kabir got to me yesterday,” he lamented.
Further, Otitoju, a former Editor of The News Magazine, explained, in graphic details, the pan Nigerian spirit of the late Chief Executive Officer of Peoples Lotto, an Isolo based business concern.
“He was extremely humble. Despite his privileged background, Sani Kabir related with everyone well. When the military went after us, we used his office as a hideout to produce our stories. He provided the seed money to start The News Magazine. That an Hausa man could trust a Yoruba man in business, so much so that he provided safety when we were being haunted by the military and also provided funds to grow a business, are the final statements of Sani Kabir’s pan Nigerian spirit and detribalised nature,” Otitoju stressed.
The TVC director added that he will “personally miss Alhaji Sani Kabir,” who passed away on Thursday at the age of 57.
OpenLife Nigeria gathered that Kabir studied International Studies at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and graduated in 1990.
He is survived by a wife and two children.
