Alex Ogbonnia, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Factional Publicity Secretary, An Enugu Man, Against APC At All Levels

As Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos, prepares to consolidate on his achievements in office,  Chief Thompson Ohia, ex-officio of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos and two-time secretary of the socio-cultural association, in this narratives made available to OpenLife,  warms Alex Ogbonnia, a factional publicity secretary of the association to desist from being a clog on the wheels of progress

Alex Ogbonnia, Publicity Secretary, Ohanaeze faction in  Enugu and  Lagos is aggressive against any Igbo supporter for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 presidential interest. This is mere pedestrian and politics.

In 2018, there was Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State election, conducted for the immediate past president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Fabian Onwughalu which brought Mr. Leo Okafor {Oba Ojoto},

The former president general Nnia Nwodo came to Lagos with his team to nullify the election and conducted the one that brought Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene to power as Ohanaeze President, Lagos in the same 2018.

Few of the executives that participated in the first election that produced Leo Okafor now took Chief Solomon to court .

When Chief Solomon was inaugurated on June 16, 2018, the same people that took him to court as   opposition also inaugurated their own president, Nnamdi Nwigwe.

Then the faction continued. It became two Ohanaeze presidents in Lagos state.

This is to clarify for those who have been convinced by the Alex Ogbonna group that Chief Solomon went to court to collect court order to stop conducting any Ohanaeze election in Lagos.

What Chief Solomon has  is a ruled  judgment with certified true copy and the case, which is four years now, kicked off in 2018.

Then after close to two years when Nnamdi Nwigwe operated as factional president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, distracting all the programmes of Chief Solomon Ogbonna, he fell out with his group.

The same group which took Chief Solomon to court quickly inaugurated another president, Colonel Reuben Nwankwo, ret’d, as their new president to check mate all the activities and movement of Chief Solomon.

They took  Nnia Nwodo and his group  from Enugu who came to conduct the election against the Lagos bye law to court.

At a time, they added Chief Solomon Ogbonna and the court process continued until they removed Nnia Nwodo and all the other Enugu people from the suit with only president Solomon Ogbonna Aguene remaining.

And Chief Solomon Ogboona was the only executive from Lagos Ohanaeze that was included in the suit and the process of court continued since 2018.

In 2021, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu intervened Colonel Reuben Nwankwo, ret’d who was parading himself also as a president.

In the same 2021, Chief Solomon Ogbonna made a remarkable move  by bringing members in  his opposition together after over three years in the court.

The two groups  agreed in one principle that the settlement will be the judgment of the court.

And the settlement is this: All the executives will be collapsed and only the president office will not be contested which means that Chief Solomon Ogbonna  will remain for another four years in office as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President Lagos while other offices will be contested between Chief Solomon’s group and the Ozorome and Ugonanbu group which name is in the court summon.

These names are the only names that remain in the court summon while Chief Solomon Ogbonna remains the only defendant in the suit.

So, it is surprising to all rational thinking human beings for Alex Ogbonnia,  who claims to be the mouth piece of one faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo national as publicity secretary , to be  calling our President Solomon, a man that has done more than every other state Presidents both national and State ,  names simply because Chief Solomon made a statement that people should vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu  for President and Babajide  Sanwo Olu as governor in the 2023 general elections.

Chief Solomon Ogbonna made Ndigbo to come closer to the government of the day in Lagos State.

Chief Solomon Ogbonna uses the supports he gets from government to provide welfare to  the widows, the less privileged and other supports to Ndigbo including spending over N200, 000 daily to manage the secretariat.

How can Alex Ogbonnia  challenge a consent  court judgment and he  calls himself member of the  national body?

So, socio-cultural association is now bigger than court?

Or is it simply because President Solomon doesn’t not want to negotiate with you cabal and any other factions of Ohanaeze?

Alex Ogbonnia , the best you can do is to challenge Governor Hope Odidika Uzodinma who got a court judgment against Emeka Ihedioha.

If challenging court judgment is now your pre occupation, the Hope Odidika Uzodinma’s case  is in the south east and nearer to you before you proceed to Lagos.

That will give you more jobs as publicity secretary.

If you can do that and set the consent judgment that is in favour of Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene as the new president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, you can have more jobs.

If not, you are as porous as ground sand.

It is laughable that you see everything as business  and in this instance attempting to use the action of touts to conduct election against consent court judgment and you think the kangaroo election will stand the test of time? Never, it cannot stand the test of time.

Above all, what brought about the court case was  that Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene , president Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos is the sixth President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Elections have always been conducted by Lagos State bye law in which the outgoing president would handle and preside over everything that concerns the election as well as conduct the election and hand over to the next president.

The bye law of Lagos was constituted and handed over to Enugu to vet before approval which they did and it lasted in Enugu in the hands of those that are concerned for two years before it was approved.

So, who is fooling who?

With this mode of succession, things have been going smoothly at the  end of every  tenure and the hand over process of one  president in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos to another  has always been rancor free.

In 2018, Nnia Nwodo, former national president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo believed that there was so much money selling form for  executive positions of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos.

He came to Lagos with intimidation and  ambiguous grammar and nullified free and fair election conducted by Onwughalu simply because they wanted to control the 2019 Atiku’s election.

It even extended to organizing impeachment to stop the secretary general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mr Uche Okwukwu  simply because of  the money they normally make from politicians.

After the 2018 election, Fabian Onwughalu who was the immediate past president advised those that went to court that the best thing was to go to court and remove Chief Solomon which if they had succeeded by getting judgment against Chief Solomon Ogbonna that they summoned, he could not have remained as President Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos today.
