Akwa Ibom @ 33: Governor Udom Emmanuel commissions roads, hospital in Eket

Akwa Ibom @ 33 celebrations which began some days ago is continuing Thursday  with projects lined up for commissioning.

Governor Udom Emmanuel is set to  open Eket for developments as part of the State’s 33rd anniversary.

A statement from Uyo Government House says the governor would, on Thursday, commission roads in Eket.

“These are some networks of internal roads connecting the people of Eket and Esit Eket. The roads link  Asiok to Ikot Abasi, Ikot Odiong, Edo, Ebe Ekpi and Ikot Eket villages.

“Today’s roads commissioning conforms with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s commitment to rural and urban renewal. Some of these hitherto rural and inaccessible communities are part of the development plans of the state government. Developments from the hinterland to the urban areas in the state continue unabated.”

After that, the Governor would also commission the ultra-modern Immanuel General Hospital, Eket. The general hospital which has been re-modeled, re-equipped and repositioned is of international standards. It conforms  with the vision of the administration for accessibility and affordability of improved medical care in the state.”

Above all, Akwa Ibom @ 33 is the celebration of Akwa Ibom State, created by General Ibrahim Babangida’s administration 33 years ago.
