OpenLife Nigeria reports that the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adejare Adeboye has handed down a new command to all the members of the church.
The RCCG has over 6 million members distributed in over 4,000 parishes in about in 165 countries in the continents of Africa, Europe, Asia, and America. The global mission of the Church is to make heaven by living a life of holiness and to take as many people as possible to heaven.
Speaking in a thanksgiving service titled “Vessels of Honour,” on Sunday, April 2, 2023 , Adeboye stated that to be a “Vessel of honour,” in the hands of God requires endurance, fasting and obedient to God’s rules and regulations.
The 81 years old cleric likened obedient to military officers who are trained to obey order at any given time.
He emphasized that the reasons most Christians are stagnant is because they don’t know how to obey instant command like military officers, adding that total submission to authorithy of God Almighty just the way military officers submit to their superiors, is a key factor to be God’s vessel of honour.
He thereafter commanded that starting from today, every member of Redeemed Church must win a soul for Christ. “ It is a command and not an advice,” he said.
The Sunday thanksgiving service was attended by officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, The Nigeria Police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, a Lagos State-owned agency under the Ministry of Transportation etc.
Praying for the military officers, Adeboye told God “Father, these military and para military officers have been taking care of us. Father, take care of them during the day and night. Support and defend them. Take care of their families. As they take care over us, take care of them,” he prayed.
