Odumosu Calls For Caution In Social Activities As He Parades Murder Suspect

Odumosu Calls For Caution

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, on Thursday, called on citizens across strata to be careful and vigilant in romantic endeavours and other social expedition to avoid unnecessary sad tales.
He stated this when he paraded Chidinma Adora Ojukwu, a 21-year-old undergraduate of the University of Lagos who allegedly stabbed the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV and a Director in Super Network, Usifo Ataga, to death in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Speaking to journalists at the command, Odumosu noted that some unconfirmed information about the Lekki incident and how Ataga was murdered which earlier went viral were far from the truth as the Command has Chidinma’s confession on tape.

The CP urged the general public to seek clarification before going to the media to break news.
Narrating how Police tracked the suspect, Odumosu said Chidinma was arrested at her parent’s residence in the Yaba area of the state on Wednesday night and confessed to committing the crime.
The 300-level student of Mass Communication, in her narrative, disclosed that she had been in a romantic relationship with 50-year-old Ataga for about four months before the ugly incident occurred on June 15, 2021, at a Service Apartment, situated at No 19, Adewale Oshin Street, Lekki, Phase 1, Lagos.

According to Chidinma, Ataga continuously tried to have sex with her after she told him how tired she was. Chidinma also confirmed that she and Ataga took excess alcohol and drugs such as “sk” and “loud”. She stated that she stabbed Ataga twice in the neck and later in his stomach before leaving the apartment with his belongings.

She further confessed to withdrawing from Ataga’s account via ATM, claiming that Ataga, before his death, willingly gave her his ATM card and his pin after she complained of lack of supports from him.

The Commissioner who promised due diligence on the matter added that a COVID-19 test has been conducted on Ataga’s body and the result will be out soon. He stressed that with the agreement of the family, the Command would carry out an autopsy.
