I Will Use Legislative Instrument To Reshape Maritime Enterprise For Enhanced Benefits For Host Community—Dr. Mike Oladunjoye Egbayelo
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Dr. Mike Oladunjoye Egbayelo, a 2027 Apapa 11 Lagos House of Assembly aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, says he would deploy legislative instruments to elevate the prospects of maritime activities in Apapa Constituency 1 to the benefits of the community.
In an exclusive interview with OpenLife’s Senior Staff Writer, Isaac Ngumah, Egbayelo who is a nationally accredited business development expert and certified business analyst, urges party members and leaders in Apapa constituency 1 to vote for him during the primary election.
He also hints that if he scales through the primary and subsequently win the election, the people would experience optimal gains in State Assembly representation
Why Are You Contesting For The Lagos State House Of Assembly?
I believe that Apapa needs a good and better representation. There are so many opportunities in Apapa that need to be exploited.
I believe that I am in a better position in terms of knowledge, experience and competence.
What are the plans?
I will sponsor a bill that will ensure maritime organizations inculcate sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance ESG, components in their operations and accountable to the host community.
My first 100 days are to prioritise Lagos port area sustainability bill that will ensure that the port organization brings 25% of their annual revenue as support to the host community.
We are going to bring it on the ESG Concept.
In addition, we are going to have a lots of programs where the youths and the elderly will be catered for.
I am going to have a community center where the elderly and the youths will be catered for.
As a trained journalist, I am going to have a quarterly publication to be used to reorientate people about our programs.
Before now, I have done a lot of job trainings like Apapa youths summits; Lagos Technocrats for Asiwaju etc.
We will continue our programs for the youths to equip them for the future.
Why Did The Arewa Community Host You?
Because they have seen that I am the only one that will represent their interests.
I have given them a lot of empowerments and support over the years.
Among all the contestants, they have seen that I am the best of all. This is the first time where the Arewa community will endorse an aspirant of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
What is your political strength?
My strength comes from God.
Has APC Done Well In Lagos State?
APC has done well in Lagos State. You can see the infrastructural development, rapid constructions going on in Lagos State, complex of schools and others. Education, health insurance scheme etc have improved.
What is your rating of President Tinubu’s economic reforms?
The economic reform is a game changer. You can see that the subsidy removal has empowered the states financially to deliver infrastructure to states.
There are also lot of investments coming to Nigeria. More developments have been signed into operations.
