OpenLife reports that Nigerian music icon Peter Okoye, famously of the Psquare, is taking fans down memory lane, revealing his football roots alongside a glimpse of his early hustle in music.
Sharing a nostalgic video featuring Nigerian Chelsea legend Mikel Obi, Peter urged fans to never quit on their dreams.
“NEVER GIVE UP! Yes, I used to play football and chase music at the same time,” he wrote, reminding the public that persistence matters.
The singer revealed he was once offered a spot at Plateau United F.C. straight out of the Pepsi Academy in Jos, but Europe was always his ultimate goal.
“Somehow, destiny chose the mic instead. Today, I’m an established and successful artist/musician.
That’s nothing but grace. OGforever,” Peter added.
What started as a dual pursuit of football and music has now blossomed into an illustrious music career, cementing Peter as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated artists, thanks to talent, determination, and a touch of divine timing.
